HPC Data Center Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation for onboarding hardware devices including servers, network switches, PDUs, and environmental sensors.
• Build end-to-end provisioning workflows to move hardware from racking to production-ready state with minimal manual intervention.
• Develop tools for power and cooling capacity planning, outage simulation, and hardware lifecycle tracking.
• Build and maintain monitoring integrations to pull telemetry from facility systems into centralized observability platforms.
• Partner with HPC Planning, Engineering, and Operations leads to translate operational needs into production-grade systems.
• Utilize AI tools daily to accelerate code development, debugging, and documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in production engineering, infrastructure automation, or SRE, preferably in HPC or large-scale data center environments.
• High proficiency in Golang and at least one additional language such as Python.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge, including administration, networking, and troubleshooting at the OS level.
• Proven experience automating hardware provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Deep understanding of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and networking protocols (L2/L3, BGP, SNMP).
• Experience with observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB) and infrastructure-as-code tools (SaltStack, Ansible, or Terraform).
• Experience with databases such as ClickHouse or MySQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience integrating with hardware management interfaces like IPMI, BMC, Redfish, or vendor APIs.
• Demonstrated heavy use of AI-driven coding assistants in a professional setting.
