About the role

Responsibilities

  • Engage and develop partnerships with landlords and property managers to expand housing options
  • Negotiate rental agreements and conduct housing inspections to ensure quality and compliance
  • Act as a housing advocate for Veteran households by matching client needs with available properties
  • Provide tenancy support, including education on housing retention, rights, and life skills
  • Maintain accurate client records and databases, including HMIS and income certifications
  • Coordinate eviction prevention services and conduct regular home visits to ensure housing stability
  • Assist with client intake, initial assessments, and connecting participants to basic needs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Social Services preferred)
  • Valid California driver license and a reliable personal vehicle for field work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in stressful situations
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing direct support services to individuals experiencing homelessness or mental health issues
  • Background in real estate, property management, or housing support
  • Experience using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • CPR/First Aid certification
