Responsibilities

Provide practical help, mentoring, advocacy, and direct assistance to help clients obtain skills for independent living
Promote health and wellness by assisting clients with accessing medical care, nutrition, and exercise services
Work within a multidisciplinary team to guide residents through legal concerns
Intervene in crisis situations using trauma-informed verbal de-escalation techniques
Educate and support clients regarding harm reduction principles and safe injection supply kits
Engage in client-centered, harm-reduction, and Housing First frameworks
Develop and implement safety response plans as needed

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, OR
High school diploma/GED with at least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse
For candidates with lived experience with substance use disorder, 2 years of sustained sobriety is required
Strong commitment to substance use recovery and Housing First philosophy
Ability to establish supportive relationships with persons with mental illnesses or substance use disorders
