About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of BOS workers handling the application process for new applicants, closed Family Assistance cases, and Safety Net reopens
- Assign applications to staff and review recommendations for benefit sign-offs and case entries
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports and audits
- Provide case consultation and guidance on difficult cases within the case planning process
- Conduct team conferences and instruct new staff on FIA Housing Court Processing Team policies
- Facilitate workflow for emergency situations such as dispossesses and maintain relationships with community housing agencies
- Supervise staff interviewing homebound clients and those at risk of homelessness
- Assist in developing anti-eviction and housing intervention plans
Requirements
- High school diploma and three years of full-time experience in social/human services or related client/employment services
- OR a baccalaureate degree plus 18 months of experience as a Benefits Opportunity Specialist
- OR a baccalaureate degree plus 18 months of experience in social/human services
- Must be permanent in the Associate Benefits Opportunity Specialist or Benefits Opportunity Specialist title for at least one year
