Housekeeper

Responsibilities

• Clean occupied and discharged patient rooms, ensuring all areas meet medical center standards
• Maintain cleanliness of ancillary areas including nurse stations, restrooms, treatment rooms, and lounges
• Refill paper products and other essential supplies as needed
• Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring carts and closets are cleaned at the end of each shift
• Respond to emergencies as assigned by nursing or the Environmental Services Department
• Notify nursing supervisors when rooms are ready for new admissions and report maintenance concerns
• Empty sharps containers when they reach 3/4 capacity
• Provide patient observation at the discretion of nursing staff and communicate any changes in patient condition

Requirements

• Knowledge of housekeeping equipment, procedures, and cleaning products
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member
• Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner
• California Driver License (required if assigned to specific professional office buildings)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles
