Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC) Operative

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for the public, providing professional advice, direction, and assistance.
• Control the receipt and segregation of waste, engaging with both commercial customers and members of the public.
• Direct and control the loading and transfer of waste, recyclable, and reusable materials to final disposal points.
• Perform general site duties, including housekeeping of site grounds, buildings, and staff facilities.
• Operate the weighbridge when required.
• Participate in various recycling and reuse activities and initiatives.
• Conduct inspections and report defects on mobile plant, vehicles, and equipment when trained.

Requirements

• Proven experience in customer service and communicating effectively with a wide range of people.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute effectively to a team environment.
• Computer literacy with the ability to operate computerized weighbridge systems (training provided).
• Demonstrable ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
• A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and relevant legislation.
