Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC) Operative

Responsibilities

• Control the receipt and segregation of waste, engaging with both commercial customers and the public
• Direct and control the loading and transfer of waste, recyclables, and reusable materials to disposal points
• Act as the first point of contact for the public, providing professional advice, direction, and assistance
• Carry out general site duties including housekeeping of grounds, buildings, and staff facilities
• Operate the weighbridge when required
• Participate in recycling and reuse activities and initiatives
• Perform inspections and report defects on mobile plant and equipment when trained

Requirements

• Experience dealing with a wide range of colleagues and customers using effective communication skills
• Proven experience contributing effectively to a team environment
• Ability to operate computerized systems (training for weighbridge operation will be provided)
• Demonstrable ability to work effectively without direct supervision
• Strong understanding of health and safety and relevant legislation
