About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential care house to ensure a safe, nurturing, and healing environment
- Mentor and provide reflective supervision to a team of youth workers
- Implement therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches and the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system
- Manage staff rostering to ensure safe staffing levels that meet the needs of young people
- Coordinate the intake, transition, and exit processes for children and young people in care
- Develop and implement care plans in alignment with departmental requirements
- Maintain accurate client information within the CIRTS database
Requirements
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a similar qualification
- Experience managing 24-hour residential services for vulnerable populations
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff management
- Experience working with children and young people experiencing trauma and disadvantage
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Completed Safe Environments training (or willingness to complete)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to undergo psychological assessment and required probity checks
