About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging presentations in flame working, furnace work, and glass breaking
- Produce well-crafted glass objects to demonstrate traditional and contemporary techniques
- Direct glassmaking teams while demonstrating and communicating processes clearly
- Provide accurate and engaging narration for demonstrations to large audiences
- Maintain demonstration work areas, tools, and equipment
- Support museum initiatives and production efforts like the MADE product line
- Assist museum gaffers and guest artists with proactive attention to their needs
Requirements
- 2-5 years of glassmaking experience
- Strong knowledge of glass studio equipment
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with extreme heat
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in foreign languages
