Hospital Veterinarian

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, and preventive care.
• Utilize a problem-based approach to develop differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
• Execute dental procedures, including full examinations, radiographs, and oral surgeries.
• Document all patient findings, treatments, and client interactions accurately in medical records.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and coordinate care with referral hospitals.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to disseminate medical knowledge and improve the standard of care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active state veterinarian licensure (or ability to obtain by start date).
• Current DEA license.
• USDA Category I Accreditation (or ability to obtain within two months of hire).
• Proficiency in performing anesthesia and routine surgeries (spays, neuters, dentals, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotional or stressful situations.
