Hospital Veterinarian

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, and preventive care.
• Utilize a problem-based approach to develop differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and abdominal explorations.
• Execute dental procedures, including full examinations, radiographs, and oral surgeries.
• Document all medical findings, treatments, and client interactions accurately in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with the hospital team and communicate effectively with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active state veterinarian licensure (or ability to obtain by start date).
• Current DEA license.
• USDA Category I Accreditation (or ability to obtain within two months of hire).
• Proficiency in performing anesthesia and routine surgeries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotional or stressful situations.
