About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, and preventive care.
- Utilize a problem-based approach to develop differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and abdominal explorations.
- Execute dental procedures, including full examinations, radiographs, and oral surgeries.
- Document all patient findings, treatments, and client interactions accurately in medical records.
- Develop treatment plans for hospitalized patients and ensure continuity of care through effective communication.
- Participate in clinical rounds and disseminate medical knowledge to the hospital staff.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active state veterinarian licensure (or ability to obtain by start date).
- Current DEA license.
- USDA Category I Accreditation (or completion within two months of hire).
- Proficiency in anesthesia and routine surgical procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotional or stressful situations.
