About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead regional hospital and healthcare preparedness planning to support clinics, EMS, and public health partners.
- Provide technical assistance for federal and state grant-related activities, including resource tracking and hazard vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures consistent with grant requirements.
- Facilitate training and exercises to evaluate and strengthen healthcare system capabilities using HSEEP principles.
- Coordinate healthcare coalition operations across a 14-county region and serve as a primary liaison with state and local response partners.
- Manage grant compliance, including budgeting, progress reports, and ensuring timely hospital reimbursements.
- Support activation and coordination during real-world incidents to ensure situational awareness and resource coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in Emergency Management or Healthcare Emergency Management.
- Strong knowledge of ICS, NIMS, and HICS principles.
- Knowledge of HSEEP principles and exercise design.
- Valid State of Iowa driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to respond to irregular and on-call emergency requests, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with grant management, including budgeting and federal/state compliance reporting.
- Proven ability to facilitate multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement and coalition-building.
- Proficiency in using computer database applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
