About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership to the hospital and partner with veterinarians to drive operational excellence and high-quality patient care.
- Lead hospital paraprofessionals to ensure efficiency, high standards of care, and an excellent client experience.
- Manage day-to-day practice functions including staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, inventory control, and patient scheduling.
- Oversee hiring, training, performance reviews, and coaching of support partners.
- Review monthly P&L reporting and partner with leadership to drive revenue growth and manage costs.
- Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Interface with Petco retail store teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience working in a veterinary practice, or 2+ years of strong leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to make decisions, delegate tasks, and drive results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic computer skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor during stressful or emotional situations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills for effective staff scheduling and resource management.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary practice.
- Previous experience with P&L management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years in a management role, specifically including customer service.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician or Certified Veterinary Assistant.
