Hospital Assistant I - Lab Support Services

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and accessioning within the Central Processing area of the Main Lab
• Execute accurate computer data entry and retrieval of information
• Review lab reports and perform quality reviews and troubleshooting
• Manage telephone reception and transport specimens as required
• Print and deliver lab reports to appropriate departments
• Maintain an effective work pace appropriate to the laboratory workload

Requirements

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience using lab or hospital computer systems and software
• Strong data entry skills and proficiency with computer systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and holidays
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
