Hospice Volunteer

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support services in home care, respite, inpatient, and bereavement settings
• Perform homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as a substitute family/caregiver
• Document activities and maintain confidentiality
• Participate in volunteer orientation, training, support groups, and interdisciplinary meetings
• Communicate regularly with the Volunteer Coordinator and meet organizational health requirements

Requirements

• Mature individual supportive of the hospice concept
• Comfortable with spirituality and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity
• Successful completion of hospice volunteer training and orientation
• Licensed driver with insured automobile in good working order for home visits
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous volunteer experience preferred
