Hospice Volunteer

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support in home care, respite, inpatient, bereavement, and administrative settings
• Perform homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as a substitute caregiver
• Maintain documentation and confidentiality as instructed
• Participate in orientation, training, support groups, and educational in-services
• Communicate regularly with the Volunteer Coordinator and interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• Mature individual supportive of the hospice concept
• Comfortable with spirituality and willing to serve others
• Successful completion of hospice volunteer training and orientation
• Licensed driver with insured automobile in good working order
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group
