For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care.

Responsibilities

• Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and members of the Hospice Team.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree required
• One year experience in pastoral/spiritual counseling regarding illness, death, grief, and bereavement
• Recognition as a Pastoral or Spiritual Counselor
• Ability to minister to patients/families from diverse cultures and beliefs
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree
• Minimum two units of Clinical Pastoral education
• Credentialed Chaplain or Board Certified Chaplain
• At least one year of hospice experience
