Hospice Chaplain

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and spiritual care to hospice patients and their families
• Conduct spiritual assessments and develop comprehensive care plans
• Provide pastoral support at bedside, funerals, and memorials
• Document all patient visits in the company EMR system
• Function as an active member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Organize company-sponsored memorial services
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to staff members
• Maintain communication with area inter-faith clergy
• Educate staff regarding specific religious needs of patients and families

Requirements

• Master’s of Divinity Degree or equivalent in theological studies
• Minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
• Board Certification as a Chaplain or eligibility for certification via ACPE or CPSP
• Minimum of two years of pastoral experience in a healthcare setting
• Computer literacy and ability to use EMR systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hospice experience
• Ecclesiastical endorsement or Ordination in a religious setting
• Experience supporting inter-faith traditions
