Hospice Aide

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Take and record vital signs and observe patient condition, reporting changes to the Case Manager
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, exercises, and positioning
• Perform light laundry and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Document care provided and adhere to hospice standards and procedures

Requirements

• Active STNA or CNA certification in Ohio
• Completion of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort caring for the terminally ill
• Self-directing with satisfactory references and a calm, empathetic demeanor
