Hospice Aide

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and linen changes
• Assist with dressing, feeding, and meal preparation as assigned
• Take and record vital signs and observe skin condition per care plan
• Support safe ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises
• Report changes in patient condition and maintain accurate documentation
• Assist with self-administered medication reminders and respite care
• Maintain a clean, orderly patient environment and adhere to safety protocols

Requirements

• Active STNA or CNA certification in the state of practice
• Completion of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
• Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with insured automobile
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort caring for terminally ill patients
• Self-directing with empathy, patience, and satisfactory employment references
