Hospice Aide

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care including baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, and linen changes
• Assist patients with dressing, undressing, feeding, and meal preparation
• Take and record vital signs and report changes to the Case Manager
• Assist with ambulation, exercise, range of motion, and positioning
• Provide skin care and use safety equipment properly
• Assist with self-administered medications and reminders per state regulations
• Maintain a clean, orderly patient environment and assist with light laundry
• Provide respite support for family and caregivers

Requirements

• Active STNA or CNA certification in Ohio
• Completion of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort caring for terminally ill patients
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, insured automobile, and good driving record
• Satisfactory employment references
