Honors Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to Honors students regarding curriculum, program requirements, and general academic challenges.
• Assist students with career mentoring, post-graduate education counseling, and exploring internship opportunities.
• Guide Honors Thesis development by helping students generate topics, approach advisors, and craft proposals.
• Support program auditing and maintain accurate student records within program databases.
• Enhance the Honors community through support of academic and community events, such as orientation and student group programming.
• Help students manage academic stress and navigate the process of selecting a major.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Excellent communication and strong writing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Access).
• Knowledge of WordPress and contemporary social media platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Research experience.
• 1-5 years of experience in academic advising.
