About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prescreens and intakes to determine participant eligibility and assess assistance needs
  • Develop and implement strength-based case management plans to help families maintain stable housing
  • Provide families with information, referrals, and connections to community resources and public benefits
  • Act as an advocate through landlord mediation, tenant rights education, and legal service connections
  • Assist families with budget counseling, financial literacy, and immediate crisis intervention
  • Document all program activity, including intakes and financial assistance, in HMIS and Salesforce databases
  • Maintain accurate case files and progress notes adhering to professional standards
  • Support program outreach and build collaborative relationships with community partners like schools and courts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • One year of experience in human services or a related field
  • Bilingual and bicultural proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Valid CA driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and vehicle insurance
  • Ability to deliver difficult messages with compassion and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working in outreach, shelter, or supportive housing programs
  • Experience working with landlords, local rental markets, or Housing First focused non-profits
