About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals experiencing homelessness living in temporary accommodation and those at risk of homelessness.
  • Develop comprehensive pathway plans to transition customers into stable accommodation and support.
  • Provide appropriate tenancy training to help individuals maintain long-term housing stability.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with support organisations to ensure early intervention and reporting.
  • Provide accurate information and advice to the public and professionals.

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the underlying causes of homelessness, including mental health and substance misuse.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the social benefits and welfare system.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and act on own initiative.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and outside normal office hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in a professional capacity working with homeless or vulnerable customers.
  • Previous experience working within a Local Authority or Housing Association.
