About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct home visits for mothers residing in DHS shelters after childbirth
- Provide maternal and infant health education, including breastfeeding and safe sleep
- Assess living conditions and household safety
- Coordinate with DHS staff and community resources
- Collect, enter, and manage case data and assignments
- Support outreach through community events, facility visits, and surveys
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree or equivalent education and experience
- Health education, health, social, or biological sciences coursework preferred
- Experience in health promotion or disease intervention/prevention
- Interviewing, field investigation, and referral skills
- Ability to collect and analyze epidemiological or case data
- Eligibility for Public Health Adviser assignment level requirements
