Home Office Leader, E&S Casualty

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall performance and profitability of the E&S Casualty portfolio.
• Act as a primary underwriting referral manager for complex new and renewal business.
• Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and processes in partnership with leadership.
• Lead multidisciplinary business reviews with actuarial, claims, legal, and finance teams to ensure operational targets are met.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level underwriters through technical training and coaching.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents to understand client needs and drive production.
• Represent AXA XL as an industry thought leader at key events and conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience in E&S Casualty underwriting with a deep understanding of insurance principles.
• Proven track record of managing high-volume portfolios and driving profitable premium goals.
• Strong existing marketing relationships with brokers and insureds.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and upskill underwriting talent.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time.
