Home Infusion Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and compliant infusion services in patient homes or ambulatory suites in accordance with pharmacy policies and physician orders
• Establish and maintain vascular access devices, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, tunneled catheters, and implanted ports
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including managing infusion reactions, vital signs, and lab collection
• Assess patient suitability for home infusion, including home safety, caregiver support, and patient independence
• Establish positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, providing education on self-care and self-administration
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, medication profiles, and discharge summaries
• Communicate patient status and therapy responses promptly to physicians, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team
• Travel to patient locations within a designated service radius using a personal or rental vehicle

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• 1+ years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy (e.g., ICU, Med Surg, ED, or PACU)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to cover an 80-mile service radius

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in home infusion nursing
• Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards
• Familiarity with EMR platforms and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and home infusion accreditation guidelines
• Strong communication, organization, and teaching skills
