HIV Planning Group Senior Project Officer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the liaison to the HIV Planning Group (HPG) and its workgroups
• Facilitate communication between NYC Health Department community organizations and HPG stakeholders
• Provide comprehensive support for in-person and virtual workgroup meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute distribution
• Coordinate with HPG workgroups to ensure clear communication and support the execution of work plans
• Support HPG member recruitment through community engagement and site visits
• Coordinate full general meetings and the HPG Annual Strategic Planning meeting
• Maintain community member contact information in Salesforce/PHPC
• Coordinate social media calendars for HIV Awareness Days and other significant periods
• Provide research assistance and ensure workgroups have access to up-to-date data
• Assist with policy and procedures development and implementation

Requirements

• Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science, or public health
• Experience working with diverse service providers and populations impacted by racism and oppression
• Strong planning, coordination, and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with survey and database applications such as REDCap, Alchemer, or Salesforce
• Knowledge of the HIV epidemic in NYC and HIV prevention interventions

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of health equity and racial/social justice frameworks
• Demonstrated experience working cooperatively with city employees and community members
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
