About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department for the Histotechnology post-graduate certificate program
- Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning in both classroom and online environments
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing modern instructional technology
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional work experience as a histotechnologist or histotechnician
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a culturally diverse community
Preferred Qualifications
- HT or HTL ASCP credential
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative instructional strategies
