Histotechnologist I

Responsibilities

• Perform histology laboratory procedures to produce tissue slides in a CLIA/CAP-certified laboratory
• Execute routine sectioning, fixation, and processing for H&E staining of FF and FFPE samples
• Label and document FFPE blocks, slides, and microcentrifuge tubes following SOPs
• Prepare and perform processing procedures for DNA and RNA extraction
• Accession and enter patient sample data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Maintain histology equipment, including quality control worksheets and preventive maintenance records
• Perform microdissection of unstained slides and prepare reagents, solutions, and controls
• Monitor the histology queue and prioritize tasks to ensure high-quality results

Requirements

• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program with 2+ years of laboratory experience
• Or a High School diploma with 4+ years of laboratory experience
• Or an Associate or Bachelor degree in a scientific field
• Basic computer skills, including internet navigation and email usage
• Ability to work the designated schedule (Friday - Monday, 11:00am - 9:30pm)
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of active ASCP Board of Certification (e.g., HT ASCP, HLT ASCP)
• 1+ years of experience in a histology laboratory performing tissue processing, sectioning, and H&E staining
