Histology Technician

Responsibilities

• Cut surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue using a rotary microtome
• Embed tissue samples according to standardized procedures
• Perform staining, coverslipping, and labeling of tissue samples
• Execute special stains under supervision
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Assist in onboarding others by demonstrating work processes

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree with coursework in Anatomy, Biology, and/or Chemistry OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology OR
• High school diploma/GED with two years of relevant laboratory experience
• Ability to work under limited supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• HT(ASCP) certification
