Highways Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Produce highways designs, drawings, reports, and documentation for the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework
• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved procedures for local and national authorities
• Deliver technical and feasibility studies that satisfy client technical specifications
• Assess potential risks, materials, and costs while complying with safety regulations and permits
• Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data including maps, reports, and drawings
• Contribute to technical excellence and innovation by providing engineering solutions
• Oversee and mentor junior staff members
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and authorities through regular meetings

Requirements

• Member of a professional body with IEng or CEng status (or currently working towards it)
• Strong working knowledge and proficiency in civil engineering design software, specifically AutoCAD
• Solid understanding of civil engineering design principles
