Highway Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance and repairs including pothole patching, striping, and concrete/asphalt work
• Set up and remove traffic control devices to ensure safe Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
• Maintain roadway cleanliness through litter and debris removal
• Repair and maintain drainage systems, slopes, berms, and culverts
• Control vegetation growth using mowing equipment and trimmers
• Maintain and repair signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting
• Work at heights using bucket trucks, scaffolding, or aerial platforms
• Participate in emergency response rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with skid steer, wheel loader, mini excavator, and tractor
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum 5 years)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
• Availability for overtime and emergency on-call rotations
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification
• Advanced MOT certification
• Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B)
