About the role
Responsibilities
- Clean and clear culverts, mow and clear brush from roadsides
- Patch broken or eroded pavements and shoulders
- Assist in storm cleanup and emergency response
- Repair fences and highway signs
- Remove litter and debris from roadways
- Operate highway maintenance equipment and vehicles
- Use hand tools and power tools including chainsaws, weed eaters, and blowers
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving history
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, standing, stooping, and walking for long periods
- Accurate eye-hand coordination
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work plans and schedules
