High Voltage Electrician

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repair and maintenance of high voltage electrical distribution systems and related equipment
• Work independently on campus or guide and instruct a group of Electricians/Maintenance Mechanics
• Estimate work requirements and procure appropriate materials for tasks or groups
• Manage electrical and mechanical duties required for all University facilities based on work orders
• Maintain high voltage (over 2000 volts) transmission and distribution equipment

Requirements

• High school or vocational school education (or equivalent)
• NJ Journeyman Electrician certification or completion of a 3-year DOL-approved electrical apprenticeship
• Thorough knowledge of high voltage (over 2000 volts) systems and industrial/utility distribution equipment
• Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and blueprints
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
