High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Independently make decisions regarding engineering problems and methods
• Solve design problems using intuition and innovation
• Coordinate QA/QC design reviews and final sign-off of procurement and construction documents
• Perform detailed electrical design and system studies for medium to extra high voltage substation facilities
• Conduct load flow studies, short circuit studies, and protective relay coordination
• Develop one-line diagrams, AC/DC control schematics, wiring drawings, and cable schedules
• Develop control building specifications along with relaying and metering specifications
• Travel to job sites as required

Requirements

• BSEE or BSCE with minimum 5 years of experience, or an M.S. degree in engineering with sufficient experience
• Professional registration (PE) or expectation of achieving it within a specified period
• Knowledge of International Electrical Codes (IEC) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
• Ability to perform detailed electrical design and system studies
