High-voltage Certified Service Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair test vehicles, including prototypes, infotainment systems, and driver assistance systems
• Perform hardware and software updates, wiring harness repairs, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting
• Install and maintain measuring technology and data loggers on test and validation platforms
• Fabricate wiring harnesses, brackets, and holders using machine shop tools, 3D printers, and hand tools
• Ensure workshop equipment is calibrated and maintained to meet engineering and regulatory deadlines
• Create, adjust, and update vehicle and test bench coding files
• Maintain detailed documentation and manage workshop tickets in a timely manner

Requirements

• 6+ years of automotive, electrical, or mechanical engineering experience
• Proven experience working with electric and autonomous vehicles
• Automotive technician master certificate or a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and calibration equipment
• Knowledge of CAN, FLEXRAY, and LIN communication protocols
• Knowledge of Linux scripting and ADAS system triage
• Ability to work onsite in Belmont, CA, with occasional domestic travel (25-30%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant engineering or technical experience with Volkswagen Group vehicles
• Experience with VW Group diagnostic tools such as iDEX, ODIS, or CP-TOOL
• Basic proficiency in Spanish and/or German languages
