High-Throughput Functional Genomics (Discovery) Lead

Responsibilities

• Act as a key individual contributor providing hands-on expertise to de-risk new technologies and scale up single-cell screening workflows
• Plan, manage, and execute large-scale target discovery initiatives focused on high-throughput single-cell CRISPR screening
• Lead, mentor, and manage a dedicated team of scientists and senior research associates
• Spearhead the identification and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to enhance discovery speed and scale
• Drive the design, execution, and optimization of sophisticated screening assays
• Oversee experimental design, protocol development, and resource allocation
• Collaborate closely with the CompBio team to build robust screening workflows

Requirements

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in genomics, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, or a related field
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in academia, biotechnology, or the pharmaceutical industry
• Prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role managing Ph.D. level scientists
• Proven track record in genome engineering, CRISPR screening design, and high-throughput single-cell functional genomics
• Extensive knowledge of NGS library preparation workflows and multi-omic profiling
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, primary cells, and complex cellular models (e.g., 3D organoids, mouse models)
• Ability to work at the interface of biology and data science

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience post-PhD
• Experience implementing process improvements and automation in production settings
• Experience with computational data handling, processing, and analysis
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
