High School Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum
• Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and IEPs
• Manage a caseload of IEPs, including data gathering and meeting participation
• Provide pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families
• Engage in practice-based professional development and coaching

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or STEM
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
• Ability to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements
• Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in urban schools and communities
