About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and behavior management to support student learning
- Conduct individual and group counseling (school-based and mandated)
- Develop and implement curriculum for social and emotional development
- Serve as a Case Manager and member of the Child Study Team
- Strengthen parent and family involvement and community partnerships
- Evaluate students' personal, family, and socio-economic backgrounds to support adjustment
- Collaborate with educators on school-based interventions and professional development
- Participate in school-wide duties including supervision and community events
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- LMSW or LCSW licensure
- Valid School Social Worker Certification from NYDOE
- Experience working in urban schools (highly preferred)
