About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach a curriculum including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences
- Develop students' skills in questioning, modeling, data analysis, and argumentation
- Facilitate student-led scientific discourse and inquiry-based learning
- Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly to respond to trends
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
- Ability to pass state teacher certification tests (MTELs) within the first year of employment
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
