About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach a curriculum including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences
  • Develop students' skills in questioning, modeling, data analysis, and argumentation
  • Facilitate student-led scientific discourse and inquiry-based learning
  • Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly to respond to trends
  • Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
  • Build positive relationships with students and partner with families
  • Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
  • Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
  • Ability to pass state teacher certification tests (MTELs) within the first year of employment
  • Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
