High School History Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach a curriculum prioritizing World, US History, American Government, and Economics
• Facilitate student-led discourse and peer-to-peer debate
• Guide students in primary and secondary source analysis and argumentation
• Build an inclusive and safe classroom environment
• Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with instructional coaches
• Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or the Humanities
• Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
• Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in urban school communities
