High School ELA Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach a robust literature curriculum prioritizing inclusive texts and preparing students for AP and collegiate coursework
• Facilitate student-led discourse and develop independent reading, writing, and discussion skills
• Analyze student comprehension and writing to adapt lessons and maximize learning
• Meet weekly with leadership to analyze student work samples and assessment trends
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
• Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
• Ability to pass state teacher certification tests (MTELs) within the first year of employment
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
