High School Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms
• Empty trash and recycling and dust/wipe surfaces in classrooms, offices, and common areas
• Monitor building conditions and report maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Director of Facilities
• Assist with basic building maintenance, minor repairs, and seasonal projects such as painting or floor polishing
• Help maintain safe outdoor areas, including light snow clearing or salting as needed

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience
• Comfort working in a school environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
