High School Chemistry Teacher

Responsibilities

• Deliver inquiry-based chemistry instruction that prepares students for AP and collegiate-level coursework
• Develop students' scientific practices, including questioning, data analysis, argumentation, and conducting interactive labs
• Facilitate student-led scientific discourse and inquiry-based learning
• Analyze student work samples and assessment trends weekly to differentiate instruction
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
• Participate in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Academic expertise in Science, STEM, or a related field of study
• Eligibility for New York state teacher certification
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting students in urban school communities

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban schools
