High School Chemistry Teacher

Responsibilities

• Execute engaging learning experiences, interventions, and enrichment aligned with college-preparatory standards
• Design rigorous chemistry lessons using inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations
• Use data to inform instruction and set individual learning plans
• Maintain high standards for academic, behavioral, and social achievement
• Build trusting relationships with students and their families
• Incorporate technology into daily teaching and manage grades via PowerSchool
• Collaborate with Instructional Coaches to improve teaching practice
• Supervise students to ensure safety at all times

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure (or eligibility) in Chemistry
• Proven teaching experience, preferably in urban school settings
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to serve as an advisor to a small group of students
• Effective communication skills
