About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute engaging learning experiences, interventions, and enrichment aligned with college-preparatory standards
- Design rigorous chemistry lessons using inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations
- Use data to inform instruction and set individual learning plans
- Maintain high standards for academic, behavioral, and social achievement
- Build trusting relationships with students and their families
- Incorporate technology into daily teaching and manage grades via PowerSchool
- Collaborate with Instructional Coaches to improve teaching practice
- Supervise students to ensure safety at all times
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure (or eligibility) in Chemistry
- Proven teaching experience, preferably in urban school settings
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to serve as an advisor to a small group of students
- Effective communication skills
