About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach one content across multiple grades with increasing responsibility
- Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
- Design and implement assessments to measure student progress
- Use assessment data to refine instructional practices
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring and intervention
- Observe Master Teachers to improve instructional techniques and classroom management
- Meet regularly with instructional coaches to implement feedback
- Support teachers with grading, assessments, and other classroom duties
- Supervise students during transitions, meals, and afterschool activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Eligibility for New York state teacher certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to the mission of educating urban students
- Self-motivation and a strong sense of personal responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in schools or urban communities
