High School Apprentice Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach one content across multiple grades with increasing responsibility
• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Design and implement assessments to measure student progress
• Use assessment data to refine instructional practices
• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring and intervention
• Observe Master Teachers to improve instructional techniques and classroom management
• Meet regularly with instructional coaches to implement feedback
• Support teachers with grading, assessments, and other classroom duties
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and afterschool activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Eligibility for New York state teacher certification
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to the mission of educating urban students
• Self-motivation and a strong sense of personal responsibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in schools or urban communities
