High Net Worth Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Interpret full statutory accounts (Ltd/LLP) and track money movement via dividends, director loans, and management charges
• Reconstruct net income from diverse streams and assess long-term sustainability through trend analysis and stress testing
• Apply working knowledge of UK personal and corporate tax to understand cash flow impacts
• Identify control structures within trusts, holding companies, and offshore vehicles
• Navigate FCA MCOB rules regarding HNW exemptions and modified affordability
• Triage clients against HNW definitions and distinguish between income-based underwriting and Asset-Based Lending (ABL)
• Evaluate asset liquidity and potential exit events
• Justify policy exceptions and identify early warning signals within client portfolios

Requirements

• Exposure to HNW/Private Banking underwriting or specialist lending
• Familiarity with KYC, AML, and PEP nuances for complex ownership
• Proven track record assessing dividend/loan account income and reading statutory accounts
• Ability to balance risk with customer outcomes through commercial pragmatism
• Strong communication skills for interacting with brokers, solicitors, and HNW customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cross-border income/assets and FX conversion
• Experience interacting with accountants and tax advisers
