High Court Reporter

Responsibilities

• Report on High Court and ACT court proceedings, delivering timely and accurate content
• Break original, agenda-setting legal stories for local and national audiences
• Interpret complex legal judgments and translate them into clear, engaging stories
• File breaking news coverage for broadcast and digital platforms in a fast-moving environment
• Collaborate with interstate and national ABC teams to produce multi-platform content
• Build and maintain strong contacts across the legal community
• Maintain a comprehensive court diary to ensure ongoing case coverage

Requirements

• Highly advanced reporting and content creation skills in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment
• Ability to interpret complex legal material and communicate it clearly to a broad audience
• Strong existing contacts, or the ability to build them, within the legal or judicial sector
• Exceptional editorial judgement and a passion for covering legal affairs
